camp! [again]
Another week of camp has gone by (and I'm deep in the throes of a third week). Last week's themes were Famous Artists and Repurposed Art. Pictures...
FAMOUS ARTISTS
Jackson Pollock
Romare Bearden [my new favorite project]
[our block - 4' x 13']
[some of the people who live on our block]
Joseph Cornell
Wayne Thiebaud
yes, they ate the pie when they finished their paintings.
Repurposed Art [and crafts]
newspaper medallion thingys [we made this up, so it doesn't really have a name]
matchbox shrines
[a little yoga practice]
this doesn't have a name either - assemblages using empty plastic bead boxes and bottle caps [I forgot to take pictures of the finished products]
plastic bags made out of...plastic bags [ours are sturdier and more reusable]
jar lid magnets
Okay. So word has gotten out that I like to dance and I'm easily convinced to have a dance party every Friday. Last week's group started asking for it on Tuesday. This week they asked on Monday. But if they ask for a dance party, I have to give them a dance party. Right?
[the CD player is very sensitive - check out what happens about a minute and a half in]
[slinky walking and the very exciting news that KEITH IS COMING!!! then Keith danced so hard that my memory card got filled up]
more campings and dancings to come...

Oh, Elin...once again I have to say "what lucky kids to have you for a teacher!"
(and YAY, Ian Hunter!)
Very cool projects and the dancing is wonderful.
Thanks Took. You'll be glad to know I had them dancing to Planet Queen too!
That looks like the most fantastic camp. I wonder if we have anything like it here in Australia. I would go too if I had the chance.
Planet Queen??? Fabulous!
The 2nd video with you in dancing in it reminds me a bit of The Love Cats video -- delightful!
