science and politics

This telephone block is in honor of Alexander Graham Bell's birthday, which was yesterday, and also because I'm spending the day calling voters. I don't want to get too political, but I think we all know I have a very strong feeling for a certain presidential candidate. I spent a chunk of this past weekend pounding the streets of Rhode Island asking for support. I met some amazing fellow volunteers, one of whom was a Katrina evacuee who told tales of voter intimidation in the last election at her (low income/all African American) polling place. So...if you live in Rhode Island, Vermont, Texas or Ohio, please consider a vote for Senator Obama today.

peace.

Our country was founded on amazing and courageous ideals. I have been profoundly sad that our present administration has done so much in such a short time to unravel democracy. For the first time in ages I am allowing myself to feel HOPE. Thanks Elin, for working for change. Let's each of us do what we can to participate in the democratic process. Vote, bear witness, and CREATE! Peace, KarenLR
