A few weeks ago, a very dear friend from my college days casually put forth the notion of having a makeshift reunion of all of us theater majors. SURPRISE - I was a theater major. If you have ever seen me stand in front of a large group of people, handed me a microphone for any reason, watched me dance - on stage, in class, in a night club or in the dairy aisle at Trader Joe's, or if you have ever met me, you will have assumed I was a theater major. Anyway... it has been enormous fun reconnecting with people and I'm looking forward to seeing them all in person. Plus, I now have a new favorite ever picture of myself (see above) that I didn't remember even existed. :)

Create NJ 2013
Hey there boys and girls! It's just a few days until CREATE New Jersey! I'm teaching two workshops: Paintstiks on Fabric (Thursday July 18th @ 6pm) and Fabric Journals (Friday July 19th @ 9 am). I think the Paintstiks class has another couple slots open. Pretty sure the Journal class does too. Come join me!
VQF 2013
I had a spectacular time in Vermont teaching at VQF 2013. I want to thank Lynn and all the organizers, my lovely students and especially my student assistants Jody, Audrey, Marion and Andrea. Here's what it looked like...
[paint + print on fabric]
[stamp carving]
[Shibori dyeing]
[great before and after shots from student Suzanne]
[Paintstiks on fabric]
BTW, I'll be teaching Paintstiks on Fabric at Create NJ on July 18th.
[barn on the expo site]
Right at the end of Saturday's Shibori class there was a tremendous thunder storm and torrential downpour. Since the students were hanging out in the classroom waiting for the storm to pass, I took out my sample work for all four of my workshops and we had a little impromptu trunk show. I had turned my phone back on and while I was talking to the class, it chirped it's little text chirp. I told everyone that it was my husband telling me he loved me. Someone said "We love him too." so I sent him a picture of them waving and sending their love back to him. :)
And then they left in a flood.
