every term, during the last class session, I show a tape of a 60 Minutes interview with Robert Rines, the MIT professor who is/was looking with great seriousness for Nessie. In the interview he says: "Too much knowing can prevent innovation. It can prevent you from looking."
I think that's a great sentiment to roundout a class. (Of course, with my unreliable hearing, the first time I heard the interview I thought he said "... can prevent inner vision." I'm not sure which version I like better.)
I can do the highland fling. Orange is my favorite color. I always tie my right shoe tighter than my left. I hate it when people use the word "dilemma" incorrectly. I do yoga while listening to loud rockabilly music. My favorite part of the male anatomy is the epigastric fossa (look it up).

Nessie is the one time my logical side loses. And I guess my Scottish side wins. I believe, just 'cause it's fun to believe.
