arachnida/scorpiones


My friend Joseph was kind enough to suggest I do some arachnids, so here's the first - a scorpion. Very scary.

Now my geeky smart girl stuff (from wikipedia, my favorite internet hot spot)...

Arachnids are a class of joint-legged invertebrate animals in the subphylum Chelicerata. The term arachnid is from the Greek word arachne, meaning spider, and also referring to the mythological figure Arachne.

Arachne was a great mortal weaver. She boasted that her skill was greater than that of Athena the goddess of crafts, which resulted in a contest between her and the goddess. In the end the goddess turned Arachne into a spider.
